Born in Quebec city, Jean David was a pioneering force in Cirque du Soleil where he served as marketing vice-president for 15 years (1984-1999). He is one of the original architects of Cirque du Soleil as described in The Blue Ocean Strategy.

Jean David is a creativity and event-marketing consultant. (www.jeandavid.ca)  Among his accomplishments, he fulfilled in 2006 a transitional mandate at the WYNN Las Vegas Hotel as Acting Vice President Entertainment, Sales & Marketing. He recently conducted an 18 months pre feasibility study in Mumbai, India for the ESSEL Group, leading a project of international resort and theme park dedicated to creativity (creative thinking process).

Those who know Jean David consider him a man of vision and passion as well as a strong-willed entrepreneur. His creativity and ability to act outside normal bounds are remarkable. Above all, he is a communications and idea man who has taken on the most daunting of challenges: understanding our environment and creating solutions to the issues confronting us. He is convinced we can no longer wait for others to act: we must act now. His ideas and insights about society and communications, and the role creativity can play in promoting change and innovations are capturing the imagination of business leaders.

Self-educated, in June 1996, the Association marketing de Montréal awarded him the grand prize as Marketing Personality of the Year. In March 2005, he published Quel Cirque! Ma théorie générale de la réalité with Editions Un Monde Différent. The book deals with his experience with Cirque du Soleil. He describes his vision of society and boldly proposes holding a national brainstorming.
